What is STEAMPINK?
STEAMPINK is both a play on the word “steampunk” (a retrofuturistic genre of science fiction), and a compound term generated from the acronym “STEAM” (referring to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Maths), and the colour “pink”.
Why does STEAMPINK exist?
STEAMPINK Education aims to develop a genre of science learning materials with high regard for design, simplicity, and ease of access to understanding the fundamentals of our shared, natural world. Whilst the future seems to be headed in the direction of AI teachers on your smartphone, STEAMPINK believes in tactile experiences, social discourse, and valuing the sanctity of the offline world.
When was STEAMPINK created?
The history of STEAMPINK hails back to our creator’s days as a classroom teacher, seeking ways to maximise engagement amongst the traditionally less represented. STEAMPINK Adventurers was an extracurricular club set-up to attract curious, creative, critical thinkers, seeking to transcend traditional science learning and combine it with a healthy dose of art, design, technology, and pink.

What is social constructivism?
Social constructivism is the theory that knowledge and understanding is developed via interaction with others. This means that learning is a collaborative practice, where individuals build knowledge together rather than in isolation.
